daraja 7.1

It’s June already, so time for some charts of the month May. It has been a good month, full with nice deep and progressive tracks. Too much to choose from (in contrast to previous charts), but this is my definite top ten:

Also  heard this track whilst listening to Vincenzo’s DJ set at Blue, Miami (Sept 10th). This is the second track I noticed, which has a really good vibe. I had never heard from Lovebirds before, but apparently he has quite some EPs out already. Really love the original mix of ‘Gentle‘ (Teardrop Recordings).  This EP also features two other tracks plus a remix of Ian Pooley. It’s worth while to check out!

First heard about Office Gossip whilst listening to Vincenzo’s DJ set at Blue, Miami (Sept 10th). Really, really fell in love with ‘Strangers‘. So I started listening to the rest of the ‘Carbon Copy EP‘ (Winding Road Records, UK) and it is amazing! Two more tracks are on there called ‘Carbon Copy‘ and ‘Say It‘ (including a dub mix). You should really check this one out, because it’s massive. Best deep house I’ve heard since a very long time. Love it!

An artist I’d never heard from before, Proff, until Bart van Wissen made a remix from his new EP called ‘Breathe‘ (Brown Eyed Boyz Records, France). Very good track. Also the original mix is worth listening. Finally there are two more remixes by Dave Storm and Lanui, which I both do not like as much as the BvW remix.

After setting the scene alight with numerous killer singles, Israeli producer Guy J released his hotly anticipated full-length artist album ‘Esperanza‘ on Bedrock Records in last quarter of 2008, to universal critical acclaim, and has been touring ever since around the globe. Now he returns to Bedrock in 2009 with yet another killer single, ‘Lamur‘, complete with a stunning remix from one of Spain’s upcoming stars, Henry Saiz.
