Again, a Beatport exclusive, heard first on Tiësto’s Club Life. Enormous Diverse Xample (of a genius) might not be an accurate but for sure a possible interpretation of the three letters EDX. Productive and successful for more then a decade, Italian native Artist, Producer, DJ, and multi-talent EDX, has been and still is a well known name in the dance since in and outside of his home base Switzerland. After various remixes for Dubfire, Deadmau5, and Kaskade, he now produces his own track called ‘Casa Grande‘ (PinkStar Records, Switzerland). Besides the original, this release contains a remix by Robbie Rivera.

Speaking of Darone (see previous post), whilst checking out his MySpace, I came across another very beautiful progressive track called ‘For My Love‘ (L8 Night Records, US), which is the B-side of the ‘Searching For Truth‘ EP. Deaconu Dan aka Darone has been making music for the past 7 years but only in recent months he’s been recognised as one promising dj/producer/remixer for the year 2008. His first real big bomb track ‘The Time Has Come‘ has been rocking the dance floors all over the world and also growing big on sales being spotted in the Top 10 Progressive Chart on Beatport (and many others). As he goes beyond the sounds, his music changes from progressive to electro, to disco and who knows what in the future, one thing is for sure people will know about it and will still be dancing to the beat.

Tiësto’s Club Life was a good one last night. Especially hour one! Some very uplifting progressive tracks were played, and I will post my favourites right here. First up is, I guess, a rather new track. This new producer – by the name of Liam Goodwin – only produced one track before, according to Beatport. Right now he comes with this really progressive track called ‘Chiriqui‘ (Nellie Recordings, Sweden). Obviously this is a promo Tiësto got, but I really loved Darone‘s Dark mix on there (check his MySpace out for the track).

I have followed the course of Umek‘s career for some time now, but it’s a bit of a surprise that he’s dropped the bollock-hard loop techno stance in favour of a minimised techno look now with this three tracker for Audiomatique (Germany). The self-titled A-side of ‘Intense Emotion‘ still bears traces of the his former self, with tough upbuilding and raw edged synthlines but the chugging loops are replaced with streamlined and sub driven techno rhythms bordering on tech house, and fully tech house-ified on the B-side tracks ‘Take a Look‘ and ‘Dialogue Occurs‘. Effective.

I’ve been looking over and over for this track for a long time now, and actually thought the lyrics were “John John”, but now I finally found this release in Laidback Luke‘s Essential Mix; it makes sense: ‘Chaa Chaa‘ (Size Records, Sweden). Already released in July of this year; Laidback Luke and Sebastian Ingrosso produced a monster! This one really gets to the crowd when played at gigs (for example the Haarlemse DJ Contest). The B-side contains a more progressive feel to the record, as remixed by EDX. Nonetheless a monster record!
